Amber Davis sets New Record for Female Competitors

Amber Davis placed first of the women competing (01:51.4), claiming the fastest female title and setting a new record for female competitors in the American Lung Association of The Northeast’s Bennington Vermont’s Fight for Air Climb held June 6 at the Bennington Monument.

Animal Biotechnology & Biomedical Sciences Graduate Student Maria Amir Solangi, is featured in the Agricultural Innovation Program for Pakistan Newsletter.   Maria is researching the role of gamma delta T lymphocytes in ruminants for  protection against infectious diseases in Dr. Cynthia Baldwin's lab.

Competitive Stair Climber Amber Davis Sets Sights on World Trade Center

Come Sunday morning when most people are reading newspapers, drinking coffee and enjoying some time away from work, Amber Davis of the Veterinary and Animal Sciences Department will be pounding her way up 90 floors, two steps at a time, of One World Trade Center in New York City.

VASCI Commencement Celebration

The Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences will be hosting a Commencement Celebration reception for all graduating seniors and their families on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 12:00 am to 3:00 pm in the First Floor Atrium of the Integrated Sciences Building.

Science Night - April 23, 2015

The annual Veterinary and Animal Sciences Department Science Night will be held Thursday, April 23 on the fourth floor of the Integrated Sciences Building.  Honors Theses Presentations will begin at 4:00 pm in Conference Room 427L.  Refreshments will be served at 6:00 pm. Abstracts will be posted in the reception area.  Posters will be presented from 4:00 - 6:30pm in the Atrium.

New Utility Vehicle for the Hadley Farm

From April 6th to April 30th, friends and members of the UMass Veterinary and Animal Science (VASCI) community are taking up the challenge to raise $9000 for a John Deere Gator for use by the Livestock Program at the Hadley Farm. To jump-start this effort, the UMass Center for Agriculture has already committed $4500! Therefore, our goal is to raise the remaining $4500.
