About the Alfandari Lab:

The Alfandari lab is located in the modern Integrated Science Building (ISB) that houses the Veterinary and Animal Sciences Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The University of Massachusetts Flagship Campus is located in the Pioneer Valley and supports a vibrant research community. Our laboratory studies Craniofacial development in the amphibian Xenopus Laevis. We specifically seek to understand how protein present at the surface of Cranial neural crest cells control the specification and migration of these cells. The Alfandari Lab has been continuously funded by the NIH since its inception in 2003.
