Ryan joined the Arcaro Lab in the spring of 2021. He is a rising senior and will earn his bachelors degree in Animal Science with the biotechnology concentration. Ryan currently spends the majority of his time in the lab designing and running enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) to detect both total and SARS-CoV-2 specific antibodies in the blood and breast milk of lactating women.

In the future, Ryan plans to continue studying molecular epidemiology as well as obtaining experience sequencing DNA and culturing cells. After graduation, Ryan plans to apply to Animal Biotechnology and Biomedical Science Master’s degree program at UMass.
