Saman received her Bachelor of Science degree from Rhode Island College in 2016. Following graduation, she was employed at Bryant University as a research technician for two years and taught Introductory to Biology Lab to undergraduate students for one year. Her background includes microbiology, genetics, and biochemistry. Now as a PhD student at UMass Amherst, she is studying reproductive biology in Dr. Pablo Visconti’s research lab. In the Visconti Lab, Saman studies sperm metabolism and male contraception. Saman was recently awarded the Male Contraceptive Initiative, Trainee Fellowship, which supports graduate students whose work contributes to the development of new male contraceptives.
