Jake is a PhD student in the Molecular & Cellular Biology Graduate Program. Jake is working on the microRNA-mediated mechanisms which control the differentiation of naïve T cells into exhausted or memory T cells. Jake is currently studying the role of let-7 microRNAs in the differentiation of CD8 T cells using specialized mouse models either expressing high or low amounts of let-7. Specifically, Jake is investigating the roles of the Notch receptors and reactive oxygen species signaling and how they program T cell fate. Jake’s primary interests include immunology, cancer biology, and the mechanisms of autoimmune disease.
