Winter Traveling Dairy 2018

UMass offers a one credit Winter Traveling Dairy Management course.

Course description - This course is conducted collaboratively with other New England Land Grant institutions.  Students and faculty collectively tour dairies and dairy related facilities during the first week in January. UMass students meet with the faculty advisor for a series of weekly discussion sessions to talk about each of the destinations.

Manning Farm - St. Albans, Vermont

Paul-Lin Farm - East Fairfield, Vermont

Borderview Farm  - Richford, Vermont

Miner Institute  - Chazy, New York

The Miner Institute is an educational research institution that manages both an equine and dairy herd in Chazy, New York and offers three diverse internship opportunities for students interested in agriculture.

Shelburne Farms - Shelburne, Vermont

Fairmont Farms - East Montpelier, Vermont

Lucky Hill Farm/McReynolds Dairy - Danville, Vermont

Hill View Farm/ Henry and Allison Pearl’s Brown Cow Dairy  - Danville, Vermont

Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory, Waterbury, Vermont
